Shop
Sell your pieces from your own site: your visitors fill a cart and pay on Stripe's secure page. The money goes straight into your Stripe account: Tilefolio takes no commission, only Stripe's card fees apply (about 1.5% + €0.25 per payment with a European card). Tilefolio opens the shop on request.
How it works
- Each product is a product tile in your mosaic, with its price. Its page shows the photos, the description and a button to add it to the cart.
- The visitor opens their cart (the icon at the top of the site), can add a note to each item (colour, customisation…), then pays on Stripe's page: card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and TWINT where Stripe offers it. Stripe also asks for their delivery address.
- Once paid, the order shows up in your administration and the stock goes down by itself. Stripe e-mails the receipt to the buyer.
- You are the seller: you ship the orders and make refunds from Stripe.
Connect your Stripe account
To do once, by the site's owner: editors don't see these settings. The administration shows the fields' names in French; their English meaning is given in brackets.
- Create an account on stripe.com (or use yours) and activate it to receive payments: Stripe asks for your identity and the bank account to pay the money into.
- In Stripe, open Developers > API keys > Create restricted key. Give it a name (for example “Tilefolio”) and write access to Checkout sessions, then create it. Copy the key, which starts with
rk_live_. - In your administration, on the home page, click Edit my site (Site settings). Paste the key in Stripe : clé secrète (Stripe secret key). It stays in the administration, never on the site.
- Still in the site settings, the Shop panel on the right shows your site's Stripe webhook address: click Copy.
- In Stripe, open Developers > Webhooks > Add destination. Choose the event
checkout.session.completedand paste the copied address. This is how Stripe tells your site about each payment. - Open the new destination and copy its signing secret, which starts with
whsec_. Paste it in Stripe : secret du webhook (Stripe webhook secret). - Set up the shop:
- Boutique : monnaie (currency): CHF, EUR, USD or GBP, for all prices and shipping;
- Boutique : frais de port (shipping cost): added to each order, whatever its size (0 or empty: free delivery);
- Boutique : pays de livraison (delivery countries): the countries you deliver to, as two-letter codes separated by commas, for example
CH, FR.
- Write to contact@tilefolio.com explaining what you intend to sell. Tilefolio opens the shop once your Stripe settings are ready: the cart then appears on your site.
To close the shop, write to us at the same address: the cart and the product tiles disappear from the site, past orders stay in the administration.
Add a product
- In Content Manager, click Product tiles, then Create new entry.
- Tuile (tile): open the block and fill in the title, the cover image, the themes and the date, as for the other tiles (see the tile block).
- Prix (price): in the shop's currency, for example
25or12.50. - Stock: the number of copies for sale. For a one-off piece, enter
1. - Photos (optional): more photos of the product, shown after the tile's image.
- Description: material, size, shipping time…
- Save, then Publish.
The stock goes down by itself with each sale. At 0, the tile shows “Épuisé” (sold out) and the product can no longer be bought: raise the stock to put it back on sale. Your site's editors can also create and edit products.
Orders
Each paid sale appears in Orders: date, the buyer's name and e-mail, the delivery address, the products bought with their quantity, price and the buyer's note, and the total (shipping included). Orders can be read, not changed; only the site's owner sees them.
Stripe e-mails the receipt to the buyer. It's up to you to ship the parcel to the address given and, if needed, to write to the buyer at their e-mail address.
Refunds and payouts
Everything to do with money happens in your Stripe dashboard: refunding an order (find it by its Paiement Stripe, the Stripe payment shown in the order), following payouts to your bank account, downloading your statements. A refund doesn't raise the stock: correct it in the product if the piece comes back.
What isn't possible yet
- Selling files to download (music, PDF…): the shop sells items to be shipped.
- Variants with their own stock (sizes, colours): create one product per variant, or ask the buyer to say which in the note.
- Discount codes.
- Shipping costs by country or weight: one flat cost per order.
