Site address and domain name
Your site has a tilefolio.com address, chosen when you subscribed. You can add your own domain name to it (for example marie-dupre.com), with HTTPS.
Your tilefolio.com address
The your-name.tilefolio.com address is chosen when you subscribe. It can't be changed from your area: if you need a different one, write to us. It keeps working when you add your own domain name.
Use your own domain name
- Buy the name from the registrar of your choice (Gandi, OVHcloud, Namecheap, Infomaniak…), if you haven't already. Expect around ten euros a year, at your expense.
- Create the DNS records in your registrar's interface (“DNS zone” or “DNS records”): see the table below. Replace
mariewith your site's address. - Write to us at contact@tilefolio.com with your site's address and the names to add (for example
marie-dupre.comandwww.marie-dupre.com). We link them to your site: this step can't be done from your area. - Wait: DNS changes take from a few minutes to 24 hours. The HTTPS certificate is created automatically on the first visit.
| Name | Type | Value |
|---|---|---|
www | CNAME | marie.tilefolio.com. |
the bare domain (@, empty field) | ALIAS or ANAME | marie.tilefolio.com., if your registrar offers it |
| the bare domain, otherwise | A | the IP address we give you on request |
- Always point your names to your site's address (
marie.tilefolio.com), never to another Tilefolio address: that way we can move your site without you changing anything. - Remove older A, AAAA or CNAME records for these same names (for example the registrar's parking page). Don't touch MX and TXT records: they are for your e-mail.
Another, simpler option: a redirect at your registrar (from marie-dupre.com to https://marie.tilefolio.com). It works too, but visitors and search engines then see the tilefolio.com address.
