Terms of service and sale

These texts exist in French, the binding version, and in English.

Effective 22 October 2026. In case of discrepancy, the French version prevails.

1. Purpose

Tilefolio is a service published by Antoine Scherrer (EI, N21), hereinafter "we". It allows any person or organisation (the "Customer") to create, edit and publish a website presenting their work. These terms govern the subscription and the use of the service. Subscribing means accepting them.

2. Order and payment

Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders: it collects the payment, issues the receipt, applies the taxes of the Customer's country and handles refund requests. The price is €49.99 per year, taxes included; the tax details are shown before payment.

When Tilefolio offers a free trial, the Customer may use the service for 30 days without paying or giving a payment method, once they have confirmed their e-mail address. The trial commits them to nothing: to continue, the Customer adds a payment method from the link received by e-mail, and the subscription starts when the trial ends, at the price above. Without a payment method, the site is taken offline when the trial ends (section 8). One trial is granted per e-mail address.

3. Term, renewal and cancellation

The subscription lasts one year and renews automatically for the same term unless cancelled. The Customer is informed by e-mail before each renewal. They can cancel at any time from the subscription management link received from Paddle, or by writing to us; cancellation takes effect at the end of the paid period. Any price change is announced at least 30 days before the renewal concerned, and the Customer may then cancel.

4. The service

The subscription includes hosting of the site, the address name.tilefolio.com, the use of a domain name owned by the Customer (bought and renewed by them from the registrar of their choice), the HTTPS certificate, the administration area, backups and updates. The site is created after payment, or as soon as the e-mail address is confirmed for a free trial, and the login details are sent by e-mail.

We do our best to keep the service available at all times (best-efforts obligation). Interruptions may occur, in particular for maintenance. We make regular backups; the Customer should nevertheless keep a copy of their original files.

5. Customer content

The Customer remains the owner of their content (images, videos, sounds, texts). They guarantee that they hold the rights needed to publish it and that it complies with the law. They authorise us to host, reproduce and display it for the sole purpose of providing the service.

The Customer is solely responsible for the content they publish. Unlawful content is prohibited, including: child sexual abuse material or content sexualising minors, in any form (including drawings or generated images); content glorifying terrorism or crimes against humanity, or inciting hatred, violence or discrimination; content that is infringing, defamatory or violates the privacy or image rights of others; pornographic content; malware, phishing and scams.

For this content, we act as a hosting provider within the meaning of Article 6 of French law no. 2004-575 of 21 June 2004 on confidence in the digital economy and of Regulation (EU) 2022/2065 (Digital Services Act). We do not review content before it is published. Any unlawful content can be reported to contact@tilefolio.com, stating the address of the page, the nature of the content, why it is unlawful and the contact details of the person reporting it. We promptly remove any manifestly unlawful content and may suspend the site concerned; the Customer is informed of the decision and its reasons, and may contest it by writing to us.

Child sexual abuse or terrorist content leads to the immediate deletion of the site and termination of the subscription, without notice or refund. We report it to the competent authorities (in particular the French PHAROS platform), keep the data identifying the Customer and hand it over to them upon lawful request. The same applies to any content revealing an offence that threatens the life or safety of people.

The Customer indemnifies us against any third-party claim related to their content or their sales.

6. Shop

The shop is a free option, opened only after manual approval by Tilefolio, and not during a free trial: after the first payment. To request it, the Customer sends contact@tilefolio.com a description of their activity and of the products they intend to sell. We may refuse a request, in particular if it does not match the purpose of the service (artists and creators selling their own work), and may suspend or close a shop whose activity departs from the approved description or breaches these terms.

The Customer is the sole seller: sales are concluded between them and their buyers, and payments go straight into their Stripe account, under Stripe's terms. Tilefolio is not a party to these sales. The Customer alone complies with the obligations of a seller: information owed to buyers, right of withdrawal, statutory guarantees, delivery, invoices, tax and social security declarations. Products whose sale is illegal or regulated are prohibited, as are those refused by Stripe.

7. Fair use

The service is meant for portfolio and presentation sites. It must not be used to store or distribute files on a large scale. In case of manifestly excessive use, we contact the Customer to find a solution before taking any action.

8. End of the subscription

When the subscription ends, or the free trial ends without a payment method added, the site is taken offline. The content is kept for 30 days, during which the Customer may ask to receive their files, and is then deleted. If the Customer seriously breaches these terms, we may terminate the subscription after a formal notice left unanswered for 8 days, or immediately for manifestly unlawful content.

9. Liability

To the extent permitted by law, our liability is limited to the amounts paid by the Customer over the last 12 months and excludes indirect damage (loss of revenue, reputation…). This limit does not apply in case of gross negligence or wilful misconduct, nor to the statutory guarantees enjoyed by consumers.

10. Personal data

See our privacy policy.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. Any change is announced by e-mail at least 30 days before it takes effect; a Customer who refuses it may cancel their subscription.

12. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by French law. In case of difficulty, the Customer first writes to us at contact@tilefolio.com to find an amicable solution. Consumers may use a consumer mediation service free of charge. Failing agreement, the French courts have jurisdiction, subject to the protective rules applicable to consumers.
